WELCOME

Hope church of Christ....what a wonderful name for a church because truly, Jesus Christ, is our one and only hope for an eternal home in Heaven. We are a congregation in beautiful Hope, Idaho, and we offer members - and visitors - an opportunity to become part of something greater...to grow in their love of God and for one another within our beautiful community.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Visitors and members can expect a heartfelt welcome at the door. Visitors will be given a visitor card that you may complete.  If you would like more information about our congregation please include your contact information. The information is used to make additional contact to answer any questions or to help with any needs or concerns. You may place your visitor card in the basket on the table close to the entrance/exit.

Acapella Singing

Although we love and enjoy all kinds of musical instruments, we choose to worship God with the instrument He created - the human voice - the most beautiful instrument of all. Ephesians 5:19 tells us to sing and make melody in our heart to the Lord.  Colossians 3:16 instructs us to teach and admonish one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in our hearts to the Lord. This may be unique in the religious world today, but it represents our desire to follow the pattern of the first century church and to worship God the way that pleases Him.

The Lord’s Supper is Observed Every Sunday 

You are welcome to participate in remembering the death of Jesus through the Lord’s Supper. First Corinthians 11:26 says, “For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.” Unleavened bread is passed around for all to eat and represents the body of Jesus. After this, the fruit of the vine (grape juice) is provided to all to represent Jesus’ blood. The purpose of this is to remember the sacrifice Jesus made for mankind.

Collection of Contributions

This congregation chooses not to pass a collection plate.  A basket for our members to place their contribution in is located on the front table. The members give as they have been prospered with a cheerful heart (First Corinthians 16:2; Second Corinthians 9:7). This money is used to help maintain a place for us to meet and fellowship with each other. It may also be used for benevolence and to help spread the gospel throughout the world. As a visitor you are not expected to contribute, but if you desire to give, your contribution is always welcome.

Bible-Centered Lesson

A sermon/lesson of about 30 minutes is taught each Sunday. The lesson will always be based on the Bible.  If you have ANY questions about anything that was taught please feel free to ask any member or the one who brought the lesson.  We are happy to hear and discuss any questions you may have.

2nd Timothy 3:16-17 tells us that "16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Our Mission

Our faith is based simply on the Word of God. We are a group of people who desire to please God and walk in the steps of His son, Jesus Christ. He serves as our great example of how to love and serve one another. His teachings are to be our teachings. God's will is to be our will. We are to be a living testimony of the power of God to save each individual through the blood shed by Jesus Christ. What an enormous gift we have been given! We believe this and therefore desire to share this amazing gift with others. No matter who you are or where you're from, there’s a special place for you here at the Hope church of Christ.
